I Have a 1hp silencer air blower that works for 20 mins then shuts off. Assume over heating. Never done this before. Secondly it trips out the breaker when I turn it off or when changing from spa mode to pool mode. Pool is 4 years old. Appreciate any advice!

Welcome to TFP.

Usually an air blower turning off is due to the motor getting overloaded and hot and the thermal protection in the motor shutting it down. The blower gets overloaded when the air pipe is restricted or the blower is too large for the system.

Does the air blow out of the spa jets normally while the blower is running?

Tripping the breaker when turned off or changing modes is a strange one.

Have you opened up the top of the blower and examined the air intake area and motor areas? Often there is foam insulation that has broken down. Or maybe a critter built a nest in it.

If you can pull the blower off the pipe see if it runs when unrestricted from the pipe.

I appreciate the feed back.

yes air blows through jets normally for 20 mins before the blower goes off.
I have examined the blower and there is no critters nests .
If I pull it off the pipe it works ok also.
I have also put a vacuum blower and the pipes are clear to the spa!

Any other advice is welcome!!

Did the blower ever work properly on your spa?

Is there a check valve in the air line?

Mine had a low airflow problem and the air silencer material and baffle failed and dropped down partially blocking airflow causing the loss of cooling air over the blower. Was able to fix it in an hour with a little creativity. Been fine for 3 years now.
