I ordered the Scuba S1 Pro on May 9th. With an expected ship date of sometime in June. To my surprise it shows up on my doorstep maybe 10 days later. Upon opening the box I was super pumped. Cordless, cool colors, tracks. It was everything I’d hoped it to be. Well I charged it immediately and dropped it in the pool on floor mode. It seemed to do well making around my pool which is 3.5-6.5ft deep. I did the first cleaning in floor mode. So Day 1 is a win. Day 2 I decided to try waterline mode. And that’s when the thrill was gone. It had no problem getting to my waterline. But once there could not sustain itself to get a good cleaning. It would essentially fall backwards. Occasionally it would make a solid run for the tile and get a good cleaning. But that was few and far between. And it seemed to get stuck in the same general area. I have a large Baja shelf with spa and it would climb the stairs run into the spa and just stay there repeatedly. I would find it in the same corner over and over. I would pull it off and somehow it would make its way back to the same corner. It does clean in an S pattern but once it goes from one side of the pool to the other it can’t seem to make its way back. This in my case missing a ton of spots. The positives are filters are easy to clean. It dumps water extremely quick when taking out and the hook system works well. I wanted to love this thing so bad. But it just wasn’t meant to be. I’ll be returning it tomorrow and continue with my chorded dolphin. I think if your pool is a simple design this will work for you. But Freeform pools with any type of obstructions, this may not suit you. Btw I also purchased the Betta Skimmer and that thing is priceless.
