I was going to go with Morton but ended up at Menards and they had diamond crystal brand. I’ve used their softener salt often so bought the 9 bags I needed to get started. Dumped all 9 in last night. This morning it was all dissolved. No residue or anything weird like I’ve heard people have issues with Clorox brand. Salt level is exactly what the calculation said it would be. Good stuff, would buy again.

I like the diamond crystal- been having to get Morton’s professional lately & it has tiny rocks in it every time!

I’m at the minimum level right now. Really should add another bag but I’m worried about that. Menards is an hour away unfortunately.

I put my initial salt load in a few weeks back and went with Diamond Crystal. I purchased at Costco because they have it in 50# bags instead of 40#. I haven’t seen any adverse effects from it and my salt cell and water test reads exactly what the calculations said it should.

The only pool salt that I would steer clear of is Clorox pool salt.

I always use the Diamond Crystal Splash Ready, it is a dollar more but I only have 10k gallons to lightly salt to taste. It dissolves before the crystals hit the pool floor. I also use Diamond Crystal solar for my softener, tank is still clean after years, and would also use that in my pool if needed.
