Anyone use a product like 303 Marine to keep their top caps looking new and protecting from the sun? Necessary or waste of time? I put a coat on last weekend and it seems to help keep it clean and also easier to clean.
I was going to put this on my car but now u have me thinkinghmmmmmmmmm, you all know I love some DIY.... Has anyone heard of Ceramic coating.. It is used on cars to block UV, acid rain, water, you name it.. It is actually a layer on top of whatever you put it on... water beads right off it... It stays on for years, some 5 to 10 years... some are very expensive and some like what I put on my wheels are not expensive at all..
You will need to do some prep work... Like 95% of it is prep work.. You will need to polish the surface to get all contaminants off like salt and water spots or 303 or anything else that has been applied... once it is prepped you can apply the ceramic coating.. Once the coating is on its on, if there was anything on the panel when the ceramic is applied it will be there forever or until you polish it again...
This is what I used on my wheels, it is enough to do a small car in 1 or 2 coats.. not sure how much you would need to do your panels..
So, Who is feeling brave and would like to try it out...
Here is what it takes to do it on a car.. The fisrt part of this video shows 1 step, that is all you would need to take off all the stuff on the panels..
Then you would apply the ceramic coating
