Resin Pool Deck - thoughts?

Following up on my earlier post. Anybody have experience with the pre-fabricated resin pool decks for above-ground pools (see example below). I'm torn. Do I save myself a lot of work and buy this? It would be about the same cost if I were to build a similar size one with composite decking and rails. I'm also not very handy. May not be as sturdy, but the main thing is just having an area for a couple chairs, setting drinks on a ledge, etc.

Hey Josh !!! Use masking tape or similar and mark it out the against a wall which will be the railing. Make the box 4.5 ft X 12.5 ft as the railing is part of the exterior dimensions. Then mark 30 or so inches from the end for the ladder area. Sit in a chair in the big 4.5 ft wide box and get a feel for it. You may have to get up to let anyone by and 2 people sitting in chairs may leave nowhere for anyone to get by. You also probably won't cut off a finger building it. So there is that too, even if it's a bit small.

Mark it up and go from there.

Great point...thanks! Never thought of the railing being part of the depth dimension. We should be OK though.

Hey, every [pool] party needs a pooper. I am the party pooper!! Have a look at this video. The ladder of the deck kit you're considering looks to be identical to the one in this video. This may or may not matter for your use, but just so you're aware...

On a more positive note, if the resin in your deck is like the resin Suncast uses... I've had some Suncast deck boxes for decades, and they still look like new. It's really tough stuff, and holds up to the sun.
