Replastered Pool

I have a poll plaster company that wants to only do my pool plastering on the weekend. Unfortunately, the pool water delivery trucks only work during the week. I know you are supposed to fill and adjust the chemistry immediately. If I have the plaster work done and can't fill the pool for a day or two, will this ruin my new plaster surface?

It is advisable to allow 6 hours between final troweling and turning on the water.

Beyond that it depends on the weather. If it rains you can get water streaks on the palster. If it is hot you can get spider cracks from plaster shrinkage.

Some types of finishes are a two day process where it is applied on the first day and polished on the second day before water is added.

So it depends on the specific finish, weather conditions, and how long before water fills the pool.

Thank you.
Actually, letting the plaster sit at least 6 hours empty is ideal. More happens. How about doing the plaster on Sunday afternoon and filling on Monday early?

I think this is what we’ll do. Hopefully there is no rain or very hot weather.

I am glad to know that waiting a few hours before filling is recommended. I wish I had chosen a pool company that coordinated this repair with water and pool chemicals. What I saved in price I am paying for in aggravation.
