Replacing Pump/Motor Help

Hi everyone. I have a 28k gallon salt water gunite pool. My Pentair single-speed pump bit the dust, unfortunately. Pool repair company has a couple of options, and I would love your input. My motor/pump is only 4 years old I know a variable will reduce my operating costs so that is worth considering.

Replace just the motor (2.5hp)-- 750 bucks
Replace with a 1.65hp variable motor--$1300 (this seems underpowered)
Replace with a 3hp variable--$2400 (has wifi and a screen, couldn't care less about this)

What pump do you have now? You can't just stick a 1.65THP motor on a 2.5THP pump (impeller) and expect it to live longer than a minute.

I have a 2.5 single speed. I decided to just replace the motor as the cheapest option.
