I'm removing my Polaris setup (pump, etc) for a new electric bot but what should I do with the return line to the pool dedicated to it? Plumb it into the main return line, abandon and cap off???
Thanks!
There are 3 other returns, two at one end and one near the opposite end. The Polaris return is about mid pool. The skimmer is close to the end with the single return and there are 2 floor suction points. There is no cleaner line. When I wasn't using the Polaris, the return would just put some water straight back into the pool with no jet directing it.
If you make the cleaner pipe into a return you need to add it to the return manifold so the water gets split 4 ways instead of 3 ways. Note that it will reduce the flow rate from all your returns.
If your pump was flowing 30GPM, then divided into 3 returns each return will have 10GPM. Add another return and the flow rate from each return would be 7.5 GPM.
