Hello,

My eyes are red from reading so much about pool cleaners. I have used the pressure side cleaner that came with my pool since new and it is on its last leg.

I have a 10,000 gallon pool with a ledge around three sides two steps on the fourth side and then a sun ledge. I have a pool enclosure so there is not much debris in the pool.

I would like to have a cleaner that scrubs the walls and waterline as well as the bottom. I would prefer one that you can leave in the pool for a week at a time. I have the Jandy/AquaLink system and being able to connect to that would be a plus but not necessary.

Any suggestions?

Get a low cost robot cleaner, Dolphin type or similar brand, with fine filters and just expect to replace it every 3-5 years as that seems to be the going life time these days. The ledges and steps make it unlikely that the cleaner will reach the water line. There is no cleaner in existence that does a good job when ledges are around. You also have an enclosed pool so there probably isn’t much large debris anyway. A simple robot cleaner will be fine. You’ll just have to manually brush the ledges yourself and consider it a win if the robot occasionally makes it up on the ledge.

Pool cleaners are like modeling in the research/technical world. "All models are wrong, some are useful." So, all pool cleaners suck, some suck less than others. If you have a suction or pressure side cleaner that does a decent job, replace it because it will far outlast robotic cleaners. Otherwise I agree with @JoyfulNoise on longevity and cost. If you're dead set on a robotic cleaner, get the lowest cost that does the job because you will be buying a new one in 3-5 yrs.

If you have a working booster pump that is controlled by the Aqualink, replace the cleaner you have with a new one. You're already set up. It just takes an install following the instructions and you should be happy.
