Rebar placement / process

I did most of this research back when I was considering an owner build. But I chickened out. I'm digging it all back up, now that the work is being done.

That’s some good reading right there. I’ve bookmarked this thread for future reference.

I can clearly see where you would have a raised brow and need some answers on your build.
One would think that a simple spot weld at all overlapping rebar would solve the void problem provided the rebar was stacked properly.

What I am really noticing is that it comes down to the skills and willingness of the people doing the work to do their best work. That is so true for most trade work.
