Question on using the Cyclone blower

I watched my pool guy use a cyclone to close my pool and want to try it myself next year. But after watching, the next day I had a question

He blew out the skimmers (pool was not drained so skimmers 1/2 full) and while a big gusher of air and water was coming out, an assistant screwed in a gizmo. Same with plugging the side wall returns. All the while the cyclone blower was running

After installing the gizmos and plugs would having the blower running, even for a short min or two cause some pipe to burst or blow the gizmo right out of the skimmer before I could get back to the blower to shut it off ??

Also, would installing a gizmo with a plug on top (to bleed air out) prior to starting the blower, be easier to use rather than trying to screw it in when its gushing like mad with air and water?

The Cyclone is a high flow/low pressure blower. It moves a lot of air but doesn’t create a whole lot of pressure. The fan motor on it is thermally protected so even if you blocked the air outlet, it will take a while for the motor to overheat and trip the thermal switch. You have more than enough time to walk over to the unit and turn it off. The burst pressure of PVC pipes are way higher (hundreds of PSI) than anything the Cyclone can generate.

I just closed, and using the vacuum hose on the Cyclone, discovered that I could easily cover the end of the hose with my palm to block the flow completely. Yet it did a fantastic job in blowing out the lines. So confirmed, pretty low pressure, but very high volume.
