Pool wall setup in stages - Hooks & stakes

Hi Folks,

Replacing my old AGP and getting the new one ready to install. The issue we've had in the Pacific Northwest has been crappy weather - rain and cool. And there is no end in sight with the long range forecast. We get a few dry days here and there.

In the past, I get help together and we install all in one day....track, wall and then liner.

But given the fact that I might have one day with 75-80degree weather coming up...I can't count on having the help needed on that day to do it all. So, I'm thinking I might get help to get the wall up and installed...but then use hooks with rope and stakes all around the pool.

Maybe stake it about 8 places around the pool? And throw on the top rail in a few spots to help stabilize it?

That way when I have a hot day for the liner to stretch...I can do that with minimal help.

I'm protected were I'm at so generally, even if its windy, I'm about max at 5-10mph winds (if that). But if I strap it down good, I'm hoping its a non-issue anyway.

Or should I consider more than 8 stake points?

Yes. I removed my old liner last year and put the top rails back on to stabilize it. It’s a pain but I had to wait over a week before I could install the new liner. If you’re worried about wind stake it inside and out between the posts or against the prevailing wind side. Don’t forget to smack the last top rail and say” that oughta hold”.
