We purchased a Bestway 12x24 vinyl lined pool from previous tenant. All was good first year. Now five months in to our second year, the liner started leaking at at the seam at the bottom of the side wall where it adheres to the base panel of the liner. We cleans the area and used Gorilla waterproof patch tape. It held for several weeks. Then a new leak occurred to the right of the patch. So we repeated process. It held a couple weeks. Same thing in another spot on opposite side of original leak. Now it seems to be leaking under the tape. We did not glue down the lap on the seam. The leak appeared as small dots right on the seam where the liner was originally attached. Is this common? Is there any additional advice regarding products we should use or methodology? I cannot afford to install a new liner and I cannot face the heat here without the pool. Also, what is the best glue to use to seal this flap?

I’ve attached photos of the patched area and the flap over at the seam in another area. Help!!!

so it was used and you have had it 2 years? seam leaks are tough to deal with, I think the pool has probably reached the end of its life, more than 3 years old and been moved at least once? these things only have about a 5 year lifespan in the best of circumstances (although I got 11 years out of an intex!) from the way you describe how this is going I would be worried about it ripping out all at once.

I would probably keep playing with the tape or other patching but it might be better to save the money and put towards a new pool. I know how bad it can be without...wet tee shirt and a wet towel at the foot of the bed with a fan blowing over can help.

For starters the gorilla tape is a good product but I'd use something designed for pool liner repairs made for the pool industry made by the pool industry. Gorilla tape isn't designed to be taped over itself as it looks to me you have done. Also square corners on any patching product is never recommended and instructions always say to round cut all and everything.
