Hello everyone,

I recently noticed that my pool lights are not turning on. I have a Pentair Automation system and PAL Evenglow lights linked via a PAL PCR-4 box. I opened the PCR-4 box and realized no power was getting to it (the wifi lights were turned off so I assumed no power was flowing to it from the automation box). When I looked at the automation box, I flipped the breakers and nothing changed. Next, I tested the GFCI on the automation box, which the PCR-4 connects to. After pressing the "Test" button, I cannot get it to reset now. I don't know if this was the original issue, or if it was something else.

I need help with the following:

1. Assist me with getting the GFCI to reset
2. Assist me with identifying and fixing the issue for what the lights stopped working.

Thanks, everyone.

Is the power to the lights turned off?

If the GFCI will not reset with the power off it needs to be replaced.

Replace it with a GFCI that is Weather Resistant and is marked WR.

Where is the light switch that controls the light in the circuit? Before the GFCI or after?

Some GFCIs will not reset if they don’t have power.

Is the light system attached to a relay? Disconnect from the load side of that relay (probably terminal 2 and/or 4) and see if the GFCI resets. If so the problem is in the PAL box.
Disconnect the "Load" wiring at the GFCI or the relay (probably terminal 1 and/or 3). Does it reset? If so it is probably good and the issue is in the light system.

So I solved the GFCI issue and that is working properly now. I tested the load on the wires that run from the Pentair Automation Box to the PAL PC-4, and they have power running through them. However, the PAL Box does not power on despite getting power from the Automation Box. Are there any recommendations on how to test if the box went completely bad and needs to be replaced, or just a part tested to be replaced?

What parts are available for the PAL box?

Now that you confirmed power is getting into the box you have to follow the power with you voltmeter and see where it is getting lost.

There is probably a transformer after the 120V connection. But you did not post any pics of the board that we can see to guide you.
