I have been testing water every day as suggested by TFP, I cant keep my FC above 1.0 - 1.5 I add LC according to the calculator in the morning when i leave for work and when I get home 10 -12 hours later I test it with recommended kits and the chlorine is at only 2. I add more LC and again it never rises.
The pool looks great crystal clear. The thing I do notice is when I am in the pool looking at the water eye level I see a couple areas in the deep end where it looks like water is breaking through the surface and spitting up in the with an area of about 2 foot diameter. I do have the ClearO2 ozone running not sure if that is the culprit, (after watching a video it may be just that) If anyone has other thoughts I would love to hear them.

Back to my 1.5 ppm chlorine any thoughts? my pH is high 7.5 -7.8 I will be out today to get Muratic Acid and pour in the pool.

Thanks guys

Is it normal when using the TFP method to pour in LC on a daily basis? I stopped using the pucks completely, only products now is Pool essentials and Muratic acid.

Good morning! Yes, for us manual adders of chlorine (bleach) it is totally normal to add some each day. Your pool has its own diet of chlorine and we are the chef. My pool is just under 18K and I add about 1/2 gallon of 8.25% bleach each evening in the swimming season. So depending on your pool size, amount of use, current CYA level, and FC target you will use x-amount each day as well. As long as you aren't losing more than 4 ppm of FC a day you are fine and might just need to increase the CYA a little to protect the chlorine from the sun. If you are losing more than 4 ppm in 24 hrs, then I would suggest doing a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to rule out algae. As always, we are careful to keep our FC and CYA balanced as noted on the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].

As for the acid, a pH of 7.5-7.8 isn't necessarily high, so don't feel like you have to keep it below 7.5 unless you are doing something specific (i.e. lowering TA). Let us know f you have any other questions.
