Hi All, The cable has been rubbing against the stone and with the recent snowfall, the cable is broken. I am looking to find a cable replacement but all I see online is the red cable which doesn't look as solid as this grey cable. Does anyone know what kind of cable this is, that I should be searching for? I assume I will have to replace the whole cable as there doesn't seem like a good fix?

Thank you,

thank you so much for the tip. my pool is rectangular 14x32, I will have to measure the actual cable lengths. Not sure on diameter, will have to measure it. No idea on tensile requirement. Up in Canada, there is a foot of snow on it. The issue is the nylon rubs against the stone, and the steel cable develops rust, leading to the break.

The vinyl on the cable should be pretty good, but heavy abrasion can scrape the vinyl off and lead to the cable failing.

You can also use vinyl or polyethylene tubing that can slip over the cable to provide protection from abrasion.
