So I bought a used Polaris 9550 for $100. I knew it was broken but thought I could fix it. Tried checking the floating cable and tightening the screws on the pins but that didn't work. Is Er 10 usually fixed by replacing the cable?
Thanks9 out of ten times it's broken internally right where it exists the housing at the black 90° fitting.
There's also a cable for that unit that isn't the swivel one and is less then half the price.
Hi - I'm having very similar problems. Did you ever get it running? Or did you just replace the whole thing? Thanks so much for any info!Well I'm not convinced the motor block is shot because that's another error code but rather I think someone before you did some tinkering and compromised the seal .....by not paying close attention thereby water got in and corrosion began. I've been through many and never came across what you have pictured. There's an inherent seal on the cable end which should take care of water intrusion. Clean up the motor contacts carefully and be careful not to use any process such as heavy sanding on the contacts which can reduce the dimension so slightly/enough that it can turn into a new problem by not having enough contact force between the male and female connections. Make sure not to damage or score the plastic around the contacts as that is where the water tight seal is made. I also use a dab of dielectric grease on the contacts which is extra insurance for good contact.
Hi, so I ordered a new cable from amazon and tested it with the motor block and it turned on! So it was the floating cable that was bad.Hi - I'm having very similar problems. Did you ever get it running? Or did you just replace the whole thing? Thanks so much for any info!
