roughly weekly. figured we had a pool company taking care of the pool and they came once a week so we should be able to do the same. obviously were doing something wrong.

Once a week Pool Care does not work until you have the pool well dialed in.

FC and pH needs to be checked every 2-3 days. Things can be stable for a while in a season and then when the season changes the FC demand will change and you have to catch it and adjust.

All it takes is FC to drop low one time for algea to take hold in the pool. Then it will bloom on you given the chance.
