Pentair Sta Rite Max-E-Therm heater- slow leakiwhere Manifold connects to main body

Hello,

I recently noticed a leak near the manifold on my pool heater. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be the cause, and what could be done (if anything) to help diagnose or repair it? Is it likely that the heat exchanger is damaged? If so, would getting a new heater make sense (the current one is over 15 years old).

You need to remove the manifold and take a look.

Water leaking out of the lower bolt is usually an indication of a heat exchanger leak.
