My Mastertemp (1 1/2 years old) started acting up again. While heating the spa the heater kicked off around 88 degrees and gave me a Err HLS code. I did the research on that issue with help from past threads on this forum, thank you!! My High Limit Switch was functioning properly so I tested the thermal regulator under hot water and it was bad. So, I left the TR out to see if the heater operated normally and it does. I ordered a new TR.

Question, am I doing any damage to the heater if I run it for a couple hours today? I know the purpose of the TR is to let the water heat prior to letting it into the heat exchanger, thus preventing condensation...but is it damaging anything to run it without the TR for such a short time?

On that note, it is college football day and we like to watch the game from the spa. 😎

No, enjoy the game in your spa.
