My Intellichlor is 5 years old and indicates that it has only consumed ~20% of its life.
Over the past year my Flow light turns red randomly. I replaced the flow sensor this year and when the Flow light goes Green, the light appears dim.

Currently, the Flow light will be dim green in the morning. Then switch to normally bright red (not dim red) in the late morning.
And sometimes will turn dim green in the afternoon for a bit.

My cell and filters are clean.
Any ideas on trouble shooting?

Thanks,
David

David,

You must have a "crazy" IC40...

I have never heard of this particular problem.. The flow switch is obviously an on/off device and has no ability to control the color of the flow light.

I suspect that the circuity that controls the color of the LED is bad.

If you have a real low flow condition, the "cell" light will never come on and the cell will not generate any chlorine.

Either way, it appears the cell is bad.. If it is just an indicator problem, the cell should still work. If not, I see a new cell in your future.

Thanks,

Jim R.
