Okay, I'm almost ready to purchase my new pool equipment. My pool is roughly 15,000 gallons. I'm getting the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus filter, but unsure what size would be best.

As of now, I would like to run the pool 24/7 on the lowest setting. There will be no automation. Someone else here on the TFP mentioned they run 24/7 and like it.

Which size should I get given my plans? Table below comparing the 4 filters.

CCP320 or 420.

The benefit of a larger filter is you will need to break it down and clean it less often. If you have the room and the money then get the 420.

You may even consider the 520 if you have the budget. Bigger is better.
The only difference between the 420 and 520 is physical size, but the performance specs are the same. I don't think going up to 520 is worth it for me, unless there's a benefit to the bigger physical size that I don't know about.

Just got done cleaning my 420 for the winter. Ran it from April to end of Oct. While there was lots of nasty stuff over the time that I vacuumed into it, I also never had an algae outbreak to stress test it. Over that time, pressure never rose, so no need to clean it. Same as last year - very impressed by how well it traps stuff, and it's high capacity.

That's great to hear! My current filter is very old and the guage has never worked since I bought the home in 2021. We've basically been on borrowed time with the equipment since then, but I'm super impressed how long this old stuff has lasted. I think they're Hayward brand, but honestly I can't see any markings on anything. lol

A larger filter will have less resistance to flow and will extend the interval between cleanings. I clean my cartridges once a year, but could easily extend to once every 18 months.
