Ozone generator

Hi! We are having a problem with our Ozone generator. It does not seem to be working because we see no water movement through any of the tubes. Also, speaking with a tech over the phone he asked me if the light was on on the generator. I cannot find anywhere where a light would be.!
This is a bullfrog, A8 hot tub. 2022.
If you could help me, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Where is the mixing chamber?

EOS Enhanced O3™ System

Step 1: The high-power O3 generator creates 2X more ozone than standard systems.
Step 2: Water and O3 are isolated and mixed vigorously for maximum sanitization.
Step 3: Over 99% of excess O3 gas is filtered and neutralized to eliminate potential spa damage.

Ozone Output: 100 mg/hr @880ppm (2.0cfh)

Voltage: 120/240V, 50/60 Hz,

Power Consumption: 12 Watts.

Contact Tank: EOS Mixing Vessel maximizes ozone contact and removes undissolved 03 gas.

Destruct Unit: EOS 03 destruct unit uses the power of activated carbon to remove any excess 03 gas.

Ozone is generated using corona discharge technology.

Free ozone is mixed with spa water sanitizing and oxidizing out impurities.

Excess O3 gas is filtered out as water is returned to the spa.

The mixing and degass vessel is the place where ozone and water are mixed and then the ozone is sent to the carbon filter for destruction.

I do not see a light on the generator to indicate that it works.

The only place you might see water is in the MDV if it is clear.

The other hoses carry ozone, which will not be visible.

Maybe check with Bullfrogspas.

The ozone should be injected at the MDV or at a venturi before the MDV.

I think that this is the MDV.

That is where water will be mixed with ozone.

You can measure the amperage of the generator to see if it is working or maybe there is a light somewhere.

Maybe ask Bullfrog how to check operation.

The power is rated as 12 watts, which can be verified with a power meter or ampmeter.

It says that there is an LED to indicate operation.

Is this a light?

The EOS system mentioned above actually uses ozone the correct way - it utilizes a contact tank to treat water slowly and then any residual ozone is released through a blow off valve attached to an active charcoal filter that will neutralize the ozone and turn it back into harmless oxygen gas. In this case, only water in the contact tank gets treated and sent back into the spa. The unit generates 100 grams per hour of ozone which is actually quite high. It only needs to be run for a few hours to destroy bather waste and then it can be shut off and a chlorine residual can be reestablished. This is the correct way to apply ozone to a hot tub. In the past, tub makers would simply put an ozone generator on one of the recirculation lines and then just power it up when the tub was in standby mode and presumably covered. That method over utilizes ozone which then will destroy chlorine as it builds up. It also causes rapid wear and tear on the CD ozone generator which will quickly fail within a year from constant use.

That is indeed the mixing chamber, but you will not be able to see water entering or leaving it and regardless of if the ozone generator is working or not, it will still cycle water.

Some mixing chambers are clear and some have a label that blocks the light.

I think that the MDV is made by Del Ozone (CMP) and just rebranded.

We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of DEL Ozone® Holding Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries. The acquisition is a first for CMP and is a great example of growth at CMP, and supports the strategic vision of CMP presence in the recreational water industry.

DEL Ozone is a leading global manufacturer of ozone and UV sanitization solutions for commercial and residential pools, hot tubs, and industrial applications. The combined expertise and product offerings will allow CMP to deliver increased value to DEL Ozone and CMP customers by leveraging the experience, products and services of both organizations.

This is an exciting beginning for CMP and DEL Ozone. We look forward to the opportunity to become a leader in the alternative sanitization market.

CMP Acquires Del Ozone.

CMP is committed to maintaining a presence in Del Ozone’s head office location of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

Custom Molded Products, a pool and spa product supplier, recently announced the acquisition of ozone and UV sanitization products supplier Del Ozone Holding Company and its subsidiaries.

“This is the right time for [both organizations],” said Dr. William Drury, CEO and president of CMP. “We were at a moment where we … wanted to absorb some additional product lines, and [Del was] at a moment where they needed support that we were able to provide them.”

That may be the case, but every Bullfrog mixing chamber I have seen (not that I have seen that many) has two big honkin black plastic end caps, and a big EOS sticker all the way around. Maybe it is clear underneath, but I don't think the OP is going to be able to see into theirs.
