OmniLogic App/ Lights Issue

I have a new pool and it has the OmniLogic system and a total 5 color logic lights. A few weeks ago, when we first opened the pool, the Omnilogic app had more light color choices than it does now. There were several more color options under the fixed light tab and there also seemed to be more light shows. Also, when I choose a color in the fixed tab the lights will cycle through all the colors until
It stops on the color I chose. This did not happen before.

Does anyone have any insight into why these changes occurred and how to change it back to the way it was set up initially?

I have not noticed any changes on mine (built early this year). I have 20 light colors and 7 shows, I don’t recall having more choices before.
My lights have always have always cycled through other colors.

This is from memory but if memory serves, the old model of the lights had to cycle through the colors to get the one you chose and they had less colors. The new ones (that you must have as it worked properly before) are directly addressable and have more colors. There is either a process you do or a configuration option to get the main box to recognize the lights (I just can’t remember exactly at the moment).

When you say you first opened the pool, does that mean the builder just turned it over to you or you opened it for the season? If it’s the former, I’d call the builder and have them resolve this. If it’s the latter, let me know and I will try to find the info.

Makes sense. Call it to his/her attention. They likely know far more about the particulars than me. :) The good news is, yes, that‘s a thing and yes, it can be easily fixed. (y)

Hayward ColorLogic lights with an OmniLogic controller can either run in switched mode or Omni Direct mode. Switched mode means each color change request is going to cycle the relay a number of times to toggle power to get to the right color or show. All lights made before June 2018 could only run in switched mode, total of 17 options, and it sounds like that’s the mode your controller has been set to.

Any newer light supports Omni Direct, which has 27 modes and also allows brightness adjustment. Changing colors doesn’t require toggling the relay; it happens quickly over a signal sent across the power wire. As your pool is new, all you should need to do is to change the light mode to Omni Direct; most likely your PB made a config change and inadvertently set the light mode back to switched.

This is very easy to do: go into service mode, arrow down a page and select Light Mode. Select your body of water, and choose Omni Direct and follow the directions. Give that a shot and that should get you back to where you were!
