New Pool + Cabana + Putting Green - Lucas, TX

It's a pvc pipe during the build and up to plaster when they trim all he pipes down to be flush with the surface or with some bubblers they stick out just a bit. I have seen pools where the fountains are flush or even slightly below the surface

I didn't follow all of those last those 3 or 4 posts, seems some confusion, but a bubbler on the shelf will have PVC coming up just like all of the other returns into the pool. If you have or want the ability to control it and turn it off and on separately from the main pool (and you do) it should be a full run all the way back to the pump so it can have a valve on it.

I have a bubbler on the ledge and really like it, it adds nice ambiance and a tad bit of flare. There are some almost flat "eyeballs" you can put on them so they don't stick up an inch or two above the floor of the ledge.

I think what others might have been saying and I wish my builder had done it - is to put a couple of returns in the wall around the ledge - that 8 or 9 inch high wall - that would push water toward the pool and keep the ledge clean. That would be a big thing and really wish I had them, I usually have to brush the ledge almost daily, at least every other day for sure.

Okay, the PB project manager was just at the house and we talked about the ledge. He is also concerned about circulation there so we decided to add two returns. They will obviously tie into the same line as the other returns. We decided to place them close to the edge of the pool (just a few inches out from the cooing). Hayward makes a slotted fitting that will direct the water flow out towards main pool.

We decided against bubblers there mainly because we have a lot of visual effects going on already (spillway, spa bubbler, waterfall, weeping wall, and rain decent). Adding two more bubblers to the ledge feels like overkill to my wife who doesn't want anything distracting from the beautiful stone ledge. So we we are going with simple returns. I'm gonna have to pay extra for it (still waiting on the quote). We are officially at that part of the build where every time I open my mouth it costs me $500. Oh well, It is what it is...

Forgot to mention. The steel crew is here today. I decided to work from home for the first time since the project started. It's been fun speaking to the guys (I speak Spanish), watching them work, and giving them water.

Also, a few pics of the pad and the plumbing trench. Notice the steel worker at the end of the trench...

awesome build! I also speak Spanish, during our build I was there all the time except for dig day, all the people were hard working crews, I had them plenty of water/gatorades and Bluetooth speaker so that can hook up there music and work lol... I stayed outside with them most of the time just carrying conversations., great people, most of the them even gave me their number if I ever needed something to repair or do, to give them a call... good to have just in case

You have a pool! OH so nice! It is now time to start bonding with your pool aka watering it. That helps it cure slower.

It is also time for your own set of links!

You also need to ask what test kit your PB is giving you and let us know so we can fill in any holes.

Congratulations! Gunnite day is exciting to see the pool take shape. Are you thinking of putting an outdoor kitchen or bar in the cabana?

We already have a kitchen built into our patio off the house. Look on the right side of the patio in that last pic and you can just make it out.

That said, I'm open to ideas about the cabana. The original idea was to have a back wall with a tv on it (picture #1), but that wall ended up being more expensive than the rest of the cabana! So now we are probably going to just plant a few trees behind it (picture #2) and put the tv on a mount hanging from the ceiling/rafters (not pictured). We have also thought about putting a roll down shades (picture #3). My daughter wants the hammock!!

I love the idea in number 1, but I completely understand about the wall costing more than the whole cabana. We are almost completely done with our inground pool. I'm building a cabana that looks very similar to what you have in your designs. I'm planning on making a sitting area with a couple of outdoor couches/chairs. Going to hang a tv on a mount from the ceiling and mount some speakers as well.
