New pool build Plumbing diagram and questions Seattle

I don't think that is what you want for the suction lines ... Typically you want one 3way valve that can be switched between pool mode and spa mode. So you would only want the spa drain on 1 side and all the pool stuff on the other. I am also a little concerned about a spa skimmer ... seems like you would be risking too much suction from the spa and not enough returning which would drain the spa.

You also likely could use fewer shut off valves and more 3ways on the suction side.

I would also suggest using a 2nd 3way on the return side instead of the 2way valve.

Hello,

Thank you for the response. Learning process for sure. I revised the plumbing and see exactly what you meant on the spa side. I also added 3way valves for the return and water feature.

We may end up plumbing the heater outside allowing it to rest on a small pad. Do you think I could just use a return and drain for flow on the Spa?

Cheers,

Tyler

Most spas do not have skimmers because anything floating will spill into the pool.

Also I typically recommend to having the center port on the three-way valve be the common pipe where water is always flowing. You get a little more control that way.

You might want a small pipe between the pool and spa returns to set your overflow amount with a shut off valve. Alternatively you could just not turn the 3 way completely to pool, but that gives a bit less control.

Are you going to have automation?
