New pool, bloody toes

Hello Everyone,
I am in California and just filled a new 14x30 pool about 3 weeks ago. It’s white plaster and startup was done by the contracting company.

My concern is we had a party and within 2-3 hours the kids got pool toe, or basically the bottom of there toes started bleeding!
Is this normal for a new pool? The pool feels mostly smooth with the occasional rough spot.
My kids have never gotten pool toe at any other pool, even swimming for longer durations so it’s worrying me.
Is this a new pool plaster thing?

Attached is my recent test. I brush 2x per day and am adding acid often to try and get my total alkalinity down.

What's the decking made of? Maybe that could be contributing to the toe issue. We also have white plaster and ours is about 2 1/2 months old. Our plaster feels smooth, but the concrete brushed decking is a little rough.

Be careful of the pool store test. I think their alkalinity test is different than TFP(?). Maybe the experts can chime in. I've taken a sample to the pool store a couple of times just for comparison, and their alkalinity was always much higher than my TF-100 tests. Get your own test kit(search this site for what to get) and be certain of the results. Pool store tests are known to be inaccurate.

Welcome to the forum!
As Steve said, I would check the deck, coping, other items too for rough areas.
Also, you need a proper test kit. I suggest the TF-100 or Taylor K2006C. A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.
How are you chlorinating the pool water?
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

the kids will learn. happens to guests (always kids) in my pool as well. once you get used to it, you know better, but their little toes get soft in the water and they play rough. You can try to explain it to them, but they're kids - they won't get it... liquid band aid - keep a bottle of it. it doesn't feel good going on, but it will help protect them til they heal.

Thanks!
My personal test kit gives the below result, I got a small Taylor kit that just tests the 3. I will definitely invest into a more robust kit and thanks for the recommendation. 100 % will read through the doc as well!
Ph 7.4
Ch 3.0
Alkalin140

I didn’t think about the deck!! Right now it is raw Fairly Rough cement as I am waiting for travertine to be installed over it. In my head I didn’t think about all the time kids spend running around, jumping in and out.. OMG!

My decking gets installed next week, so I am hoping that will remedy these dang pool toes!
