I did not want minerals based on the advice here. Equipment is not connected yet. Is there any advantage to keeping the Nature 2 Fusion Soft and just not using the Mineral Cartridge? Or Should I have them swap out for the Aqua Pure PLC1400?

No issue with the Fusion Soft -- just do not install the mineral cartridge.
It is the same SWCG cell as the 1400.

Ok. I just took a look and it looks like the cap on the left is just the cap and the actual starter mineral cartridge is not installed. The salt cell is installed. Perhaps this was not a mistake and this was intentional by the PB. Instead of installing aqua pure they installed nature 2 fusion soft with no cartridge.

So I assume it is safe to just keep that cap on the mineral side and that’s it? I see some old threads showing more complicated procedures. Just making sure.

This will all be connected to an iAqualink RS system. Will I be able to automate this SWCG via iAqualink in the same way as the Aqua pure system?

That cap is fine for the mineral cartridge side. Just be sure the PB does not come later and put the cartridge in and take the silver cap. They typically do not put the mineral thing in until several days to a couple weeks after the pool start up.

Good to know. Thank you! I may need to put a warning sticker on there or something to make sure there is no miscommunication. It seems likely at this point.

If the price is the same then just keep the cap on without cartridge. If the latter is more expensive then get what you wanted since you're not using it to its full design.
They charged me $0 for the change. So I assume the Nature 2 was more expensive or equal to the Aqua Pure.

My understanding is the Nature2 is normally less expensive. As they plan on you buying the mineral cartridges every so many months.

Mine was less expensive but of course they tried to pre-sell me extra mineral cartridges. Been very happy with the performance of my Nature2 in our first year with the pool.

I'm about to go the other direction, I suspect. Just note that the Nature2 is a bit rarer and there aren't aftermarket parts (i.e. cheap compatible cells) for the Nature2. You will be forced to buy the Jandy part as while they're electrically compatible, they are different form factor.

How much are the compatible cells? I see the Jandy part for about $550 online.

Looks like they're $380 right now. And Jandy only gives you a warranty if you have a "pool professional" install it. The aftermarket ones give 2 years of meaningful warranty, but I will admit reviews are hit and miss depending where you look.
