Muriatic Acid Pool store 31%, Lowes at 30% and 1/2 the price

So Lowes has Kleen Strip Green Muriatic Acid Concrete Etch at 30% for 1/2 the price of my pool store $20 vs $10 for a gallon. 31% vs 30%. Anything in the Lowes gallon I should stay clear of for a pool. I go through about a gallon every 2 weeks trying to keep PH down.

You will find the Green Strip is actually 10-30%. So they do not not actually tell you what strength it is.
Lowes does not have pool muriatic acid outside in the garden section?

Do you have a Menards near you? The carry full strength muriatic acid for a good price.

My local Lowes only has the Kleen stuff. Local Menards has the same Kleen but its special order. Neither on their website show any pool acid. I just opened new pool last month and have been buying the acid at the pool store just because I was in there for other stuff. I'll surf the isles of both Lowes and Menards (they are across the street from each other) and see what I can find.

On a side note, I have a bunch of calcium white flakes so I've been using lots of acid to lower PH down to 7.0 and aerating, but every 24hr its back up to 7.8, so going through a lot of acid

You can use it. The most common theme in other threads about this product is its questionable strength and value for the money. Their "trade secrets" tend to make us wonder, but you can use it.

The point is that it IS available at Menards. OP is looking for Pool Acid...he just need to look for muriatic acid.
