Motor does not start on high speed, only through low speed

Hi, my motor does not start on high speed, I need to start it on low speed, than switch to high speed.

The main problem electricity not stable, and often disconnected for couple second. Motor stops and does not start again.

It thermally protected, so it activated after 2 second. And deactivated after 30-100 second.

So motor warm, thermally protection clicking and nothing.

Looks like I have

Actually just now motor stops. I checked computer logs, it does not reboot, so I think motor stopped because it was overheated.

Lines clear, filters backwashed today. Pressure on bypass 10 and 12 through clean filter.
Manometer no good and showing 2 at no pressure.

Ambient temp close to 100 today.

Bought new capacitor last autumn and installed it, motor now start on high speed, run 5 seconds and goes to thermal protection.

Wrong again?
It's rated 125VAC, but motor 240V
is it the problem?

OK, found another another one
will it work?

Or may be this

I am a bit concerned with your pump over heating. Once a pump is running, the capacitor is no longer in play.
You mentioned that your electricity to the pump is "not stable", which could have damaged your pump.
This is the reason that we don't recommend putting a pump on an extension cord.
I would start by getting an electrician to check the wiring going to the pump.
If it is too old/unstable the result inside the pump is HEAT... enough heat to melt some of the winding insulation in the motor itself.
Once the electrician is satisfied that you don't have a wiring problem, you may need to get a new pump.

They have a "Run" capacitor, not a "Start" capacitor.

A "Run" capacitor stays in the circuit during operation.

If they had the wrong capacitor, the motor will not work correctly.

They need to try it with the correct capacitor.
