I just filled my pool after new liner. Just want to prevent metal stains. My previous liner had them, I used something to get rid of it one season.

The next season it was back. However I then switched to the trouble free method after that, liquid chlorine, good test kit, etc. So I'm not sure if the staining is from my water supply or previous chemicals/algaecide.

Any recommendations?

Just opened it, don't want to add chlorine yet if I should use a metal remover.

Metal remover doesnt remove metal (I know, hard to believe with that name). Its just sequestors it for a while and you have to keep adding it as it wears off. Its best to actually remove the metals from the water. What metals are in it and what do you normally add to the water to sanitize it?

I haven't tested it yet, just finished filling. But I just use liquid chlorine and Im going to use trichlor tabs as a way of getting my cya up until I get within range. I did that last year because I had a leak so I had to fill like 3/4 with new water and I had the tabs already. I just supplement with liquid chlorine as needed. And I keep an eye on ph while using the tabs.

I have a good Taylor test kit, but I don't think I can check for metals.
