Ok guys, I think I need some guidance here. I have to add my info in to my post here as it seems tapatalk has gotten rid of the signature option, or I just can't find it.
Im in Long Island ny, and have an intex ultra frame 16'x48" round which is about 5000 gallons. I'm using the intex 635t 1500 gph filter. I'm using a Taylor k2006 to test.
Since I set up the pool this year I have been using the tfpc method. I've consistently kept my fc above minimum levels, and have been on the higher side of levels since opening.
Here's my issue. I feel as though whenever I look at my pool in sun light, it has a yellowish/maybe slightly greenish tint. You can clearly see where the water line is how the blue and white color of the liner changes. The water is clear, not cloudy. The sides and bottom do not feel slippery or slimy. When I look at the water at night, it looks clear and blue. I do have some trees overhead and wonder if the sun shining through the leaves is projecting this off color.
Here are my levels as of last night.
Fc 6
Cc .2
Ph 7.6
Ta 90
Ch 60
Cya 40
My fc has consistently been at 5 or greater. For a while it was up at 16, than I let it drift down to 10. I was going to slam, but am not sure that that's what I need to do. I'm not losing excessive fc, maybe 1-2 ppm per day of being in direct sunlight.
Any thoughts on what I should do? Should I slam and see if it does anything? I don't think it will as I was up at fc 16 for a while with the water looking the same. I thought maybe fc was too high and that was why it looked yellow from the bleach.
Here's a picture for reference, taken from an iPhone camera.
This was with sunlight on the pool
And this was after dusk when the sunlight came off the water.
In these pictures the sun shines from the left, and there happens to be a small tree right there that it shines through.
