The following question comes up often with new members to TFP: "What effect does one, 3-inch jumbo Tri-Chlor tablet (or "puck") have on my CYA level?"
The short answer is that you can use the Pool Math calculator to find the answer.
1) Open the Pool Math mobile app.
2) Go to the main menu and select "Effects of Adding" right under "Pool School."
3) Enter your Pool Volume in Gallons.
4) Select "Trichlor" in the "Chemical Additions" field.
5) Type the number 8 in the "Amount" field and change the units to "Ounces" in the drop-down menu.*
