Hi All - Bought a home in 2021 that came with a beautiful 450 gallon, 57 jet, 6-person Cal Spa (A857L). It's almost 20 years old, but in pretty good condition. We've only had to replace three diverter values.

I drained it in summer of 2022 since it gets no use in summer. When I opened it that winter, we had a significant leaking issue. Had a pro come out and tell us this would be a significant repair due to the hours (>$1k). He recommended trying a Pool Leak Sealer, which we did two (2) times and did see significant improvement. However, the leaking seems to be far worse in summer ... we have to top off the water at least once a week. I'd guess we're losing 50 gallons a week or so. In winter we were losing 50 gallons a month.

Under the tub all the jets are covered with insulation so the insulation would need to be removed to find the leak. Pro guessed there's more than one jet leaking. While it looks like the leak is coming from a specific area, our hot tub is in a little house out back so only two sides are accessible without having to pull the hot tub out.

Some questions:
Is the pro correct? Is there no way to fix leaks from the jets without going under the tub?
Is this a sign that it's time to move on from the hot tub? How do folks normally get rid of a broken hot tub?

Depends on the leak and method of repair.
What color are the pipes?
Where do you see the wet foam?

Maybe. That's your call.

Hire a guy to haul it off. Sawzall. Chainsaw (heard it but doubt the authenticity). Fill it with dirt and plant tomatoes. The options are endless.😉
