I purchased a home with a inground 80 inch round hot tub. It did not have a heater so I installed one yesterday. I do not have a cover What is recommended to keep the heat in and the electricity bills down? Thank you.

You can at bare minimum get a solar cover (usually blue - looks like bubble wrap)
You can cut it to fit the size if you don’t find the exact size.
It just floats on the water & reduces heat loss from evaporation. That’s the least expensive option.
Amazon & other online retailers of pool stuffs have these.

There are are also hard & soft style covers with foam inside.
Depending upon if your tub edges are out of the ground at all you may just be able to get the same type as a stand alone tub uses. Usually vinyl or sunbrella type material on the exterior.
These are usually between $500-$1k depending upon options.
The cover guy & beyond nice are a couple retailers people here have had good luck with.
There are also hard ones that are designed to be walked on- they are the most pricey. Depends on what your looking for

Is the Cover Guy the right place to look? I’m willing to cut one to my size if it’s more affordable.
I would talk to them & tell them your dimensions & construction.
The type of covers they make have a “skirt” (material that hangs over the edge/sides to prevent heat loss) - which is why asked about the edges of your spa protruding from the ground. They can make the cover with or with out a skirt (if with, you can specify how long it is).
There is a calculator on their website to help you build what you need and get a price.

A solar/bubble cover is certainly more affordable (probably $100 or less) & easier to acquire quickly compared to a normal spa cover but it is just a thin layer of plastic doesn’t have the ability retain the heat like a cover that has foam inserts.
Many people do actually use both.
So if you order a solar/bubble one now you can still use it after you eventually get a solid one that has better insulation properties.
