Hi All,

Searched for this and can’t seem to get a definitive answer. I have a Thursday fiberglass Aspen pool , rectangle. 3 return jets. How should I point them for most efficient circulation and skimming? See pic. Yellow are jets, red is where the skimmer is. Thanks team!

Really won't matter much. If it were my pool, I would face them all toward the steps to push water that direction. Does two things, keeps water circulating on the steps (how much?), and pushes water out and into the wind...wind will push to skimmer.

Does your prevailing wind come from the steps across the pool to skimmer?

Actually usually comes from the skimmer side pushing away from it :(

You can do the rubber ducky/ping pong ball test.
Throw them in & see how long they take to get to the skimmer or if any get stuck somewhere etc. Adjust & try again. You probably want the one jet nearest the deep end to be pointed downward some to get some circulation there.

That stinks. Skimmers should face prevailing winds. Advice still stands. I'd take the circulation over the steps. Returns will not overcome the wind.

Cool thanks. I’ve done a little bit with a leaf but casual observation. Guess it might be time for a few experiments:)

I have mine pointed down and in your example I would still have pointed down towards the steps. I have your issue to where my skimmer is upwind but I have an auto-cover so its closed when we are not swimming so the skimmer can do its thing unaffected by the wind.
