Recent lurker, first time poster. Really appreciate the the devotion of those who regularly post. We are putting a new pool into our home, which will include a Jandy SWG. Builder did NOT try and include any sort of mineral system or to sell us on anything, said they don't work, are a waste of money, and just end up damaging the pool. Based on the threads I have read here, sounds like he's right. But I couldn't help just double checking. Seems like Jandy just released a new mineral system of their own called TruGuard (though I imagine it's pretty similar to the Nature2 systems out there based on what I have been able to find). Is there any reason at all to want this system? I assume the answer will be "no," but had to confirm.

I am curious, though, why it is that mineral pools with real mineral water from natural hot springs don't have issues using minerals in their pools but residential homeowners do.

Thanks in advance.

He is right. And very rare for a pool builder.

Typically, those are free flowing systems, with changeover of water. Also, most are not metals - such as copper, zinc, etc, but mangesium, etc.
