I am planning to install Jandy Energy Filters to use for Sheer Descents. There are two models of this filter/strainer. The only difference seems to be that the 2888 includes a pressure gage (and is less expensive according to my PB's pricing). Can anyone advise of any other differences, please?

The one that comes without the gauge may need a plug in the gauge port. They are 1/8"npt, not the 1/4" that most gauges used in pool equipment are.
I don't believe there is a hole at all. Here's a description from a supplier:

Then it will work the same. The gauge was for setting the proper water flow to the Jandy Ray Vac for which these were originally made.
Thanks. I just find it odd that the model with the gauge is cheaper. They seem the same aside from the gauge. Although these are good prices from my PB, the 2888 is cheaper every place I looked.
#2888 - $68.52
#3456 - $97.47
