Intex Spa E90

Hi,

i have an intex spa with error code E90, which means no water flow.

the problem is that the water is actually flowing. The motor is turning the spindle inside for impeller usually wears or breaks this has been replaced and so has the impeller. There are 2 water flow sensors on this pump 1&2 I have tested both with multimeter and both are working as should be.

why would I get a water flow error even with flowing water?

any help or ideas much appreciated

Thanks

Bad connection from the sensors to the circuit board? I haven't had an error on mine yet, two weeks old, but from what I hear I can expect something within a year or two...

Was the error there after impeller replacement or was it replaced, working, then threw the error?

Just took another look, there’s a flow sensor just after pump and then one after heat exchange unit, the sensor after heat is working but when flowing there isn’t enough pressure to push the magnet up to sensor? What’s it more likely to be not enough flow or the sensors sticking?

I have found a "Fix" for this. I can not explain why it is working, but it is. I jumpered from #2 to #5 on the picture below. Incoming Black wire to the black wire headed to the transformer. I expected this to cause the pump to always run and figured that was better than it never running. Oddly the pump works EXACTLY as it's supposed to. I am not advocating anyone else try this, but just wanted to pass along a success story.

You are an IDIOT. You are simply bypassing safety sensors that prevent the system from burning out & catching fire. I have been an electricican working on commercial & industrial equipment for 44 years and have had to replace equipment many times that morons like you have damaged or destroyed because of your gross incompetence. Before you burn your house down, learn about electrical & get an understanding of how & why it works instead of gloating about being such a hero to "fix" something that you "can not explain" why.

A bypass is a good troubleshooting step, and using any equipment in bypassed condition temporarily might be acceptable if you can confirm the bypassed switch was defective. Owners equipment, owners decision, owners risk.

And sometimes a safety device is redundant.

That said, if you have no idea what you are doing, rewiring a hot tub is a really good way to win the next Darwin award...
