Hey all, I wanted to check and see if I was loosing water to normal evaporation or if it maybe a leak in the pool. I did the 24hr bucket test and ended up with a little more than an 1/8” of water loss. Both the water line in the pool and the bucket reduced equally. The system was running for those 24hrs. Is it necessary to run another 24hr test with the equipment off?

Since you’ve confirmed no leakage, no you’re done. The only reason to run the test with returns/skimmer plugged and pump off would be to isolate if the leak is in the plumbing or the shell.

Is this normal to have to have lost this amount in 4 days?

When using the estimator I find it most accurate to input the specific days details for each day in question and add the amounts in question vs using today’s info multiplying times the number of days. Evaporation estimates can vary wildly day to day with wind, temps etc etc etc.

Depends on water temp and outside temp. I’m in Atlanta I lose 1/4 a day easily, if I turn off the spa and water fall it’s about half that.

This year is worse in evaporating but we have had a lot of pop up showers ( mini monsoons ) to help balance it out

I finally bought an auto filler for when we travels.
