I'm interested in finding out about ag pools with insulated walls .I saw one a few years ago and will be replacing my 18 foot round this year, Anybody have one or details on manufacturer. Thanks

Do you mean like the insulated composite wall panels ? I believe optimum and radiant both make one with those.
Without a heat source, it doesn't matter IMO. It will slow down the heat transfer a little and maybe buy an extra day with a couple degrees extra. But then in the same token it will take a little longer to warm up as well.
Most of the heat loss is through evaporation anyway, and while any R value is better than no R value, it's still not much with these pools. (Though the manufacturer will claim otherwise and that the walls also cure world hunger).
What I *do* like them for is never rusting. Get one for that alone.

The doughboy hydrosphere is also constructed like this. There’s also the fox ultimate pool- not sure if it has insulation persay.
The main draw for this style pool in my opinion is the more robust construction of the panels vs usually a single sheet of metal in a standard above ground pool. Not really any insulation value it may provide.

I looked at them (I replaced my pool at the end of last season). I decided against them. The cost was not worth it for me.
Regular and consistent use of a solar cover is your best bet at keeping a pool warm.
