Inflatable spa

So we were given an inflatable Palm Springs Lay Z spa (vinyl ), I know my water pretty well through using for our pool, but is it different to treat a spa to a pool?
Do I need to add cya as it’s undercover?
I add borax, magnesium and salt to the pool can I add it to the spa?

Dichlor until your spa has 30 CYA, then liquid. Add dichlor as needed, your CYA will diminish faster in a heated spa.

The concept is the same, but there are some differences
- Heat will degrade your FC, so you will loose FC faster than you are used to.
- Jets / Aeration will raise your pH. So your pH will tend to float up more so than with a pool. So you will have to add acid fairly frequently, especially after a water change when your TA is not yet in balance
- a hot tub is a LOT smaller than a pool. Chemical amounts are a lot more "touchy". Half ounces matter. One person in a hot tub for 20 minutes can seriously impact your FC. Everything in a hot tub happens faster, and with less input than with a pool.
