I was wondering if anyone has used a cyclone blower to blowout their lawn sprinklers?
If so what attachments did you need to buy in order to do this. Mine is currently winterized by a landscaping company using a compressor attachment at the valve box.
Thanks for any help or info.!

Post up pics of the feed area in the house/basement and also of the 1st control box if there's more than one.

For mine there was a 3/4 T on the main 1 inch line just before the 1st box that I raised when adding mulch. Instead of a compressor fitting like done in the past, I'd upsize it to whatever size hose i was using for the cyclone. If that didn't work I'd redo the T with a 3/4 leg with a 1x 1 x1 T and try that.

I have a similar leg in the basement that I could also try. I'm currently using a 27 gal compressor and thisclose to buying a cyclone which theoretically would do a better job. As a last resort if the cyclone didnt do better, I'd use the cyclone and remove the last sprinkler head on each zone. (Some of my runs are loooooooong).

You need to measure the size of this below. In the materials I list below, I assumed it is 3/4". It may be 1". If it is 1", then get the right size riser and reducer.

Parts Needed:
The Cyclone takes a hose adapter that fit the blower. Get two of these:

Get about 3-5 feet of 1.5" flexible PVC line. One that is 6-12 inches and the other 4.5 Feet

FPT adapter

Reducer Bushing

1 - PVC Riser

Get two hose clamps for 1 1/2" hose.

Assembly
  1. Remove the plug by your house.
  2. Take the 6" of flexible pvc and glue it into the FPT adapter, and the Reducer bushing. Call this the "Connector"
  3. Thread one of the hose adapters onto the "connector."
  4. Put the PVC riser into the hole in your house.
  5. Thread the newly made "Connector" onto the PVC riser from your house.
  6. Thread the other hose adapter on the cyclone.
  7. Put a hose clamp on both ends of the 4.5 foot flexible PVC, and attach to cyclone and to the connector. Tighten the clamps.
End Poduct:
Cyclone - hose connector - Clamp - 4.5' Flex PVC - Clamp - hose connector - FPT adapter - 6" Flex PVC - Reducer Bushing - PVC riser - house.

You don't have to follow my advice, but you need a rig that can get from the 1.5" FPT on the cyclone to the 3/4" FPT (or whatever size) on your house.
