How do I remove laterals?

Multiport valve is stuck on the pvc pipe while trying to replace sand. How do I remove the laterals to pull entire thing out of filter? They don't seem to unscrew on first try.

@nrbauer, did you get it yet? Depending on which model Sand Dollar do you have, it looks like some models the laterals fold up for easy removal and installation, while some models each lateral snaps or twists into the hub. Some laterals are threaded continuously while some are only a 1/4 turn to install or release.

I’m having this same issue. I’ve tried unscrewing the laterals, as they do no fills up. and they do not move, as well as tried pulling with a pvc wrench and having some help try to yank the multiport valve off.. and still nothing. It’s all functional, I would hate to have to cut the pipe. Did you come up with a solution??
