hose size question

so i got the sand pump my pool has the 1.25 hoses is it not a good idea to use the small hoses with the sand pump using an adapter

pool is 14x14 square 4 deep think 4000 gallons cant remember the sand pump is this

As long as your fastening correctly it should be fine, I've run similar pumps with 1.25 hoses.

do you think i should just use the one big hose and close up one of the intake holes. I was thinking of just cutting a bigger hole then just using the big hose that came with the pump

Just unhook the old pump and hook up the new one, replace the cheap hoses with better quality after a year or two
