Hey TFP team.

New pool owner from NZ here with a 35,000l marble plaster gunnite pool.

Pool is about 3 weeks old and the pH has settled. I have noticed that my TA was at the upper end at handover, but was more worried about managing pH.

Now that it’s a bit more settled, I am thinking of dealing to the TA and CYA levels.

The fear I have though is dropping the pH to 7 and agitating might not be a good idea with fresh plaster?

Liquid chlorine pool.

I have attached a photo of my current pool levels, tested with an Australian equiv of the Taylor 2006.

Welcome to TFP! Even though you believe the pH has settled, the plaster is still quite new at less than 30 days. Your numbers look great right now with a slightly positive CSI to ensure the plaster cures. Once you get past 30 days, then you can consider bringing the TA down a bit, say 70-80, to see if that helps keep the CSI "slight" negative. Right now though, your numbers look good. Perhaps watch the FC to ensure it doesn't go any lower. :goodjob:

Yeah, when I say settled, I am only adding a bit of acid every three days, rather than 500ml a day!

FC measure was from before a dose of Cl. But we are eating chlorine here in NZ this summer, the lack of the ozone layer and clear days this summer is just destroying it. Can’t wait to get a SWG.
