How exactly does one remove the baffle assembly from the lower filter housing? It looks like you need a special tool to insert into the fitting from the outside??
Help with Pentair C & C Plus cartridge filter

The outside has an extension that threads into the inside. Hold the baffle inside and use a rubber strap wrench (or another mechanism to not damage the outside threads) to unscrew the outside.
Thanks! I finally carefully grabbed the bulkhead fitting from the outside. There is only about 1/2” wide area to grab, but I was able to get it with a filter wrench.
New problem….the new o rings for the bulkhead fittings don’t seem like the correct ones. I believe the o ring is Pentair PN 86006900. The supply store gave me a non Pentair part and said it was the same o ring. I don’t think it is. New on the left, old on the right.

My filter was mfg in 2016. According to the footnotes, I’m using the correct part 86006900. However, it’s not the Pentair version…it’s supposedly compatible. It doesn’t fill the o ring groove in the bulkhead fitting like the original. It’s clearly not the same size.
