Help! Too much algaecide!

Oops! I wasn’t reading correctly and added an entire gallon of HTH algae guard (9.96% n-Alkyl Dimethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chlorides; 0.04% n-Dialkyl Methyl Benzyl Ammonium Chlorides; 90% “other ingredients”) to my vinyl above ground pool (5300 gallons). I later read elsewhere that was only supposed to use about 14-16 oz to open the pool. This product doesn’t foam. Do I have to drain and refill the pool now? Or is there anything I can use to counteract most of the algae guard to make it safe for the kids to swim in? I already shocked it as well. I called HTH, but they are closed today. Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the forum!
First - no need for that product. It really messes up our pool water chemistry.
It is ammonia. So it will take alot of chlorine to consume it.
With your size pool, depending on what your water costs, it might be wise to drain a bunch of the pool and start over.
How are you testing your pool water chemistry?
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
