Yep, just what the title says. Using the empty chlorine jug for year old torch fuel that wouldn't burn. Approximately 1 1/2 cups I think. Tried to get it immediately with a net (desperation). Of course that didn't work. I thought about putting magic erasers in the skimmers? Is there anything I can do to quickly get this out? Will the sand filter catch it?

You should have lit it on fire 🔥 … that would have been a cool effect …

The fuel is basically light petroleum distillates which means it’s going to float on the water and not get to the filter. It might accumulate in the skimmer.

I suggest getting some oil absorbing Pig Mats (I use them in my garage) and floating those in the pool to help absorb the oil slick.

You’ll also need to periodically wipe down the water line at the vinyl liner surface as it will accumulate there, gather crud and dust, and then turn into a scum line. A good microfiber cloth should help with clean up.

Wonder if I could still light the rainbow slicks? That would be cool. I'll look for the Pig Mats. I usually wipe down my liner every other day anyway - so guess I will be doing it daily for a while. Thanks!

You want their oil-absorbing ones, not water absorbing.

Their oil absorbing booms are ideal. The boom could sit in front of the skimmer and absorb oils as they move towards the flow. Or you can let the boom float around the pool
