My name is Rose and I am new to cleaning my over ground pool. My pool specifications are a follow:

This is my pool after a thorough clean and reapplication of shock, chlorine and overnight filter. Scrubbing and refilling was also done numerous times. Please help.. it's been a kidding battle for about a month now. I am a rookie to this madness and would probably need ready terms to understand what I need to do. This is my second year using this pool and I did not have this issue at all last year. Please help.

Welcome to TFP! Please utilize the Pool School you see in the left pane. It will refer you to our recommended water test kits that we all use to manage our water. That is where you need to start. You have algae which is caused by a level of Free Chlorine that is too low. Read up on the stabilizer vs chlorine (CYA/FC chart) level relationship to help you understand that you must know your CYA level to know how much FC your pool needs. When you get your recommended test kit then you can post up your water levels so they can be diagnosed. Until then you should add some liquid chlorine each and every day to your pool while filtering it or sweeping with your pool brush. You can probably get by with 1/3 of a gallon each day. After you get your testing done then we will advise you to perform a SLAM which is the process that kills the algae off. Read up on that as well in Pool School. Once you begin following our testing and treating methods you will be on your way to a clean and sanitary pool. Stay out of the pool stores so they won't sell you any lotions and potions.
